Steven Van Kempen to mxmag.nl

Belgium’s biggest motocross website, MXMag.be, has made a multi-year agreement with Steven Van Kempen. From the first of January 2018 Van Kempen will take up his position as chief editor for MXMag.nl

MXMag experienced a very positive 2017. A complete coverage, with an increased focus on grassroots competition in Flanders, has allowed the digital off-road platform to continue its growth. MXMag.be is expected to finish the year with close to 2 million unique sessions and approximately 4 million pageviews.

Steven Van Kempen is known as a pioneer in digital motorcycle media in the Benelux. Steven was the founder and driving force behind Hotlap (2001) and CrossXL (2011). Furthermore he offers riders and teams a management service for their communication and race contract needs through Kemco Sports PR & Management. As part of the intensive collaboration between Van Kempen and MXMag, Crossxl.nl  will be rebranded to MXMag.nl from the first of January onward.

Steven Van Kempen: “MXMag has a proven track record in Belgium with a unique and high quality project that puts a lot of emphasis on cooperation. I really like this approach too. So from my side I’m looking forward to get out of the blocks strong with MXMag.nl in the Netherlands! This is an awesome new challenge after many great years with Crossxl.nl. I couldn’t have done this without the support of the contributors, visitors and advertisers of Crossxl. Last but not least we’re convinced that people will like what we have in store for them with MXMag.nl!”

Olivier Evrard, owner MXMag: “We’ve known Steven for a long time as a media colleague although he doesn’t need any introduction in the Netherlands! So to say we’re pleased with this partnership is a big understatement. The last couple of years we’ve regularly covered the Dutch scene on our Dutch-language website but we want to extend this coverage a lot further. With international stars such as Jeffrey Herlings, Glenn Coldenhoff and Brian Bogers, talented up and comers like Kay Karssemakers, Ivano Van Erp and Kay De Wolf, the Dutch Masters of Motocross, two strong motorcycle federations and lots of passionate riders and clubs the Netherlands is definitely one of the leading motocross nations in Europe. That’s why MXMag.nl deserves all our attention and a driven chief editor!”

About MXMag
Established as a monthly magazine in 1983, MXMag switched to digital publishing only in 2007. Initially MXMag only published in French, but since November 2009 Dutch has been added to the platform. The launch of MXMag.nl clearly establishes the MXMag brand as the media reference for all off-road motorcycle enthusiasts in the Benelux.
